It is empty because it launched empty and because we will not seed it. Every entry that ever appears here will have been bought by the organisation named in it, and will be marked Paid listing. We would rather show you an empty page than a page of placeholder names.
What the register is
A paid, alphabetical register of pools, swim schools, clubs, lifeguard training providers and pool plant operators. Entries carry disclosed, verifiable facts only: the organisation's own name, where it operates, what it does, its affiliation to a governing body where it claims one, and the pool plant operator qualification held by a named role where that applies. Everything in an entry is something a reader can go and check independently, and we say where to check it.
What the register is not
- It is not a ranking. It is alphabetical and will stay alphabetical. There is no featured position, no top slot, no boost and no sorting by anything except the alphabet.
- It is not a safety endorsement. We have inspected nowhere. We have not visited a plant room, watched a session, read a risk assessment or tested a sample of water. A listing means an organisation paid to state some facts about itself in public.
- It is not an accreditation. We accredit nothing and are not competent to.
- It is not a recommendation. We do not recommend organisations any more than we recommend products.
What we check before publishing an entry
We check that the claims in the entry are checkable, not that they are true of the operation on any given day. Specifically: that a claimed governing body affiliation appears on that governing body's own public listing; that a claimed qualification is a qualification that actually exists and is named correctly; that the organisation exists as a legal entity; and that the entry contains no safety claim, no health claim and no comparative claim. Entries that pass are published alphabetically. Entries that do not are declined and the money is not taken.
What a reader should do with it
Treat it as a starting list, not a filter. The questions worth asking of any facility or session are in who holds the duty of care and what gets tested and recorded, and they are the same questions whether or not the organisation is listed here.
